VITRIOL

Once prominent and glorious, the ruined city of Vitriol sits north of Castalia, in the Fatherland Northwood. The city was famously sacked and put to the torch by the Ang army during the ancient Hemis-Wars nearly 6,000 years in the past. The ruins are typically viewed as one of the most haunted places on the planet. 

Teenagers born in the Fatherland play a rite of passage type of game called The Vitriol Statue Game, where a teen is dared to ventured into the ruined city, to the large statue of Father Baethyl at its center. There, the youth would have to recite the Aurora Ore, a comon Baethylic prayer, amid supernatural occurences all around before fleeing and making their way back to the safety of their group. Many kids fail to remember or recite the full prayer before making a mad dash for their city limits and their laughing friends.
